I'm a Survivor

Well, as the title says, I'm a survivor of the first day of vacation bible school! It actually went ok. Now if I can just calm down and get my stomach all uncramped I'll be good. The only problem was that there wasn't a big turn out, but that's ok for the teachers because then they don't have major behavior issues and can be more one on one with the kids. But I'm exhausted after dealing with all this. So I'm gonna cut this short. I know, shocker!

I'm Baaaaack!!

Yes, yes, I know it's been forever since I posted last. Vacation Bible School is only a week away so as you can imagine, I'm a bit frazzled. In two weeks it will all be over and I can breath a big sigh of relief. Until then, sleepless nights, dozens of phone call to and from people helping me out and the terrible knot in my stomach from nerves on the edge. So I'm super excited because my best friend from high school got engaged on Memorial Day weekend. I got to babysit her dog while she was away on the special camping trip. That's ok, Princess and I get along ok. She's about the only chihuahua that isn't hyper and annoying I've ever known. This past weekend my whole family made the long trip to Oklahoma for a wedding. My mom's best friend from college has two children that we've grown up with and her youngest, Philip, got married. So naturally we had to go. The reception was outside at the bride's ranch. It was very lovely. The only hitch in the plans was the unbearable 100 degree heat in dress clothes. I expected the bride or bridesmaids to faint at any moment the whole evening. Say what you want about Texas heat, but I'm sorry, that was the worst heat I've ever experienced. There's pics of me on my myspace page at the wedding if you want to check them out. There's also a picture of my Hermoine and our newest addition to the family. Yes we have another cat. Well, actually one of our cats died in February and this one has helped fill the void. I found him one afternoon, crying his head off, and the motherly instincts kicked in I guess. You know that sound kittens make that just tugs at your heartstrings. You can't resist it! He was really sick though. I looked up kitten health on the internet and decided that he had an upper respiratory infection. My sister kind of butted me out of the way and took over the care of our sick baby. It's probably a good thing too. She took him to the vet and got out of there only owing 50 dollars! She said she thought they either felt sorry for the kitten or for her since she was crying hysterically, convinced the vet would tell her she should put it to sleep, or both of them. Whatever it was he got shots, special food, medication, and a vet visit for much less than it should have been. She's named the kitten Atticus and he is now officially her cat and no one better say differently. Although I am the one he chooses to curl up with when everyone is in the same room. I think he remembers that it was me that first took care of him and saved him from certain death. Hermoine adores him. I think she thinks he's her own little baby doll type thing. She's been showing him the ropes and he's learning all too quickly how to do all the little things she does that cats shouldn't know how or be able to do. He's soooooo cute! He's gray all over with white feet and a white belly. Well, I better go. I'm getting a little tired. Time for bed.
